Private Sessions

You have a busy schedule and work hard every day

When you get to the gym, it’s your time to let off some steam and have a great workout without having to think, “What comes next?

We can help you maximize your time and increase the effectiveness of your workouts. We come to you ready with a goal-specific program that works with your body type, taking into consideration any injuries or conditions you may have.

Barefoot Tiger training specialties include:

Your yoga teacher knows your habitual body patterns well. Sometimes more than you do.

She knows your left shoulder hikes up higher than the right in Warrior 2. She knows sometimes your left big toe cramps when you do Downward Dog. She knows your mind loves to focus on that 10 o’clock management meeting whenever it has the chance. She knows a little bit of silence can lead your brain down a rabbit hole of thoughts.
The good news is, she also knows exactly how to un-kink, un-cramp and un-ravel almost anything you bring to the mat on any given day. And the more you un-kink your body, the more your mind will un-kink too.
We teach yoga one-on-one, as ancient yogis did, to give you a chance to explore each asana (posture) as it is in YOUR body. And even deeper, to help you discover a keen sense of awareness in your mind.

Yoga and Mediation has many benefits, both physical and mental:

  • Calms the nervous system

  • Reduces stress and anxiety

  • Creates strength while increasing flexibility

  • Improves agility and balance

  • Increases bodily awareness

  • Creates mental clarity and focus

The Pilates method seeks to increase the strength, flexibility and control of the body.

Pilates is a body conditioning routine that helps to not only build flexibility, but also strength, endurance, and coordination in the legs, abdominals, arms and back. The original six principles of the practice were: concentration, control, center, flow, precision and breathing.

Practicing Pilates on a regular basis helps keep your body centered and grounded, giving you a foundation and strength during times of transition.

The benefits of a pilates practice include:

  • Develops the mind-body connection to improve concentration & coordination

  • Helps break faulty patterns of moving to prevent injury & alleviate common aches, pains & stiffness

  • Balances strength & flexibility for a longer, more toned, more efficient body

  • Emphasizes the coordination of breath with movement to engage the deep core stabilizers; this results in a healthier spine & a stronger place from which to initiate movement in the body

  • Challenges the smaller muscles surrounding joints to assist the larger muscles, resulting in a more balanced body in appearance & feeling

  • Develops postural awareness while strengthening the muscles which promote optimal postures for daily life

Getting the Most Out of Your Sessions

We want you to get the most out of your work with Barefoot Tiger. To prepare you for your first session with your teacher or trainer, we’ve compiled a list of a few things you might like to know.

Personal training, Pilates, yoga and nutrition sessions are one hour, unless stated otherwise. Massage therapy sessions are 60 or 90 minutes.

Your teacher or trainer will generally arrive a few minutes early to set up and your session begins as soon as your teacher or trainer arrives. Take time to relax before your session so you don’t feel rushed or stressed.
For massage sessions, your therapist will generally arrive about 10 minutes early. Please have a clean sheet and bath towel ready for your therapist when they arrive.

It’s a great idea to set aside a specific space for your sessions to occur, particularly if you are working in your home. Create a space that you feel very comfortable in, free from distractions and reminders of what you have to do after your session. There’s nothing more distracting than doing yoga while looking at your computer on your desk and thinking “oh I forgot to email Jane!”

Personal training: wear comfortable exercise clothing and sneakers.
Yoga and Pilates: wear comfortable exercise clothing and bare feet.

A yoga mat is recommended for all personal training and yoga sessions. As you work with your teacher or trainer he/she can advise you on what equipment you will need for your in-home sessions, taking your space and budget into careful consideration.

Try to avoid eating a full meal right before your session. If you are hungry, a small piece of fruit (apple, banana) about 30 – 40 minutes before your session will give you the energy you need for the hour.

Barefoot Tiger Policies

Payments must be received in advance of your scheduled sessions by  Credit Card – Visa, MasterCard or American Express, or by check. Barefoot Tiger reserves the right to cancel appointments for which payment has not been received. All bulk sessions must be paid up-front in full to receive the discounted rate.

Refund requests require a 48 hour written notice via email or fax (678) 960-1358. Barefoot Tiger reserves the right to amend this policy at its discretion.

We make our best efforts to be on time to every appointment and expect the same from our clients. If you arrive late, this time will be deducted from the session; if your teacher or trainer arrives late, the amount of time will be added for an extended session.

Barefoot Tiger has a 24-hour cancellation policy that is strictly enforced. Should you need to cancel a session, please contact your Teacher/Trainer or the Barefoot Tiger office at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. If 24 hours notice is not given, the session will be charged as a completed session. Exceptions that apply include: hospitalization, death and other reasons beyond your control.

Clients wishing to reschedule an appointment may attempt to contact the trainer directly to reschedule for the same day only. If no time slots are open or if you are unable to reach the trainer, the 24-hour policy goes into effect.

If the Trainer cancels a session without 24 hours notice and cannot reschedule for the same week, he/she will make up the session to you with a complimentary session.

All session packages and class cards expire one (1) year from the purchase date and all sessions must be used up by that time. All purchases are non-transferable.

Barefoot Tiger requires all team members to maintain their professional certifications at all times. Personal Trainers hold certifications by reputed certifying agencies ACE, ACSM and NASM. Barefoot Tiger maintains liability insurance for all staff members and will supply ‘additional insured’ forms for buildings and studios upon request.

We strive to make every session enjoyable and valuable, and will offer you undivided attention throughout your sessions. While we hold ourselves responsible for your training, we will hold you responsible for working to your fullest potential when we are together and on your off days in order to reach your goals. This path we are beginning is a collaborative effort and it will take everyone’s full concentration and effort to achieve your best possible results.
