Jess Blake

Born in Utah, and raised in Minnesota, Jess is a mountain and country girl at heart. When she moved to NYC in 2008, she turned to yoga as a way to maintain the stillness, balance, and connection that she had previously found in the natural world around her.


Jess is passionate about teaching others to use the physical yoga practice as a tool for self-discovery and exploration. Her classes consist of intelligent and creative sequencing, using poses that open and educate the body so that each student can learn to move safely throughout the practice with confidence and clarity. Jess infuses mindfulness techniques, meditation, and breath-work into her classes, offering students the opportunity to develop a deeper awareness of their own mind-body-spirit connection. Jess understands that the path of yoga is unique for each individual. She brings a sense of presence and compassion into her teaching, using hands on adjustments and clear instructions, to create a comfortable and nourishing experience for her students.

What is your greatest accomplishment?
Waking up each day to do work that I fully believe in and love.


Who do you admire and why?
I admire new students. I think it takes great courage to start something new.


What traits in others are you attracted to?
Passion, Dedication, Honesty and Kindness.


How do you want to be remembered?
I want to be remembered as someone who was passionate, dedicated, honest and kind.


If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would it be and who would it be with?
I would go to San Cristobal de las Casas in Chiapas, Mexico. I would go with my sweetheart.


What do you do in your free time?
I do yoga! I also cook, take walks, spend time with friends, and travel to Utah to see my family.
